Is there a spell and grammar check on Office Suite X?

Open Office Tools Spellcheck is good because it only starts where the cursor is. The
3.3 add-on, however, insists on going back to the front of the program, and with a large
novel, this is going to get tedious. Is there an Office Check 3.3 manual that teaches us
how to train Office Tools 3.3 Spell Check to start at the cursor rather than at the beginning?
Also, what happened to the grammar check?

Every time I hit the S key, the navigation box pops up regardless of which type of documents I am using. How can I correct this?

Office Suite X is pretty good, but a couple times in my documents, all of the letters and numbers are replaced by pound symbols. Why?
