No, you can't install Office Suite X on a Chromebook because those laptops are powered by Chromium which doesn't allow you to install Windows applications, however, you have the possibility to use Google Docs to access, edit, and manage your documents. Simply access it from Chromebook at http://Docs.google.com

Office Suite X is just a repacked version of Open Office. In this case, try saving the document with another extension (DOC, RTF, etc) and the password will not be applied to. Then you can open the document in another suite. I also recommend the removal of Office Suite X since it's not an official product.

The only possible and logical reason for this to happen is related to the installation of fonts. I suspect that you might have used a font that was later deleted or corrupted. If you remember the font used, you can perform a re-installation then the content should be displayed properly. Another solution is to select all text and apply another font. If that was the problem you should be able to recover your work.

If your letter was saved on a drive and you're using Windows 7 or later, you can go to My Computer and right click on the respective drive and select Restore previous versions.
If this is not working for your, then you need to go to Tools> Options> OOo> Paths and browse the temporary folder. Once you reach that folder, copy all the files and change their extension to ODT or DOC and chances are the file will open with your content.

Unfortunately, Office Suite X don't help you download documents from your email. The good part is that you don't need a program to download documents from your Yahoo email. Every email provider has a download operation included in the email. So whenever, you receive an email with a document you will see on the right side of the document a button that says: Download. Hit it, select the destination folder and it is done.
I have tried changing the fonts and attempted to open it in other programs, but it still has not worked. Every time I try to open the file, a notification field titled 'ASC|| filter Options' pops up asking me to select a character set, my Default fonts, which language I want to use, and to select one of three choices for Paragraph break.

This is a problem occurred because of the character encoding. Go to Tools > Options and you will have the possibility to change character encoding to match your file.
